Pollution Legal Liability

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), pollution legal liability (PLL) insurances are one of three common types of insurances that are used to guard against property contamination liabilities and costs. Insurance specialist James McAluney suggests that property owners, contractors and developers look into this insurance product to mitigate losses from bodily injuries, cleanup costs and property damages. Typical PLL coverage ranges begin at $1,000,000 and have been known to extend up to $150,000,000. Most products have minimums that are specific to client needs. "Policyholders must also be aware of exclusions like particular types of air pollution, underground storage tanks, and other special pollutants," reminds Jim McAluney.
